BD Team

Recruitment for Senior BD Professional

Full-time

[What'll you do?]

As a senior leader on Galux's Business Development team, you will define and own Galux's external partnering strategy, serve as the company's primary representative to global pharma and investor audiences, and play a direct role in shaping pipeline and portfolio decisions. This is not an execution-heavy role supported by a large team; you will operate as a strategic leader who is also hands-on in a lean startup environment.

Specifically, you will:

• Define Galux's partnering and out-licensing strategy, including identifying which assets and platform capabilities to bring to market, when to initiate partnering processes, which partner archetypes to prioritize, and when to walk away from a deal.

• Serve as Galux's primary external face in partnering contexts, leading executive-level discussions with global pharma and biotech BD and C-suite counterparts, investor audiences, and key opinion leaders at international conferences.

• Lead high-value negotiations as primary deal lead, making real-time judgment calls on deal structure, term tradeoffs, and competitive dynamics across the table from senior pharma counterparts.

• Advise the executive team on portfolio strategy, including go/no-go decisions on partnerships, timing of out-licensing relative to value-inflection milestones, and resource-allocation tradeoffs between internal development and external collaboration.

• Create and sustain competitive tension among potential partners by managing parallel partnering processes and controlling information flow and timing strategically.

• Independently assess and interpret Galux's R&D outputs and pipeline data to form your own view on asset value, partnering readiness, and how to position scientific narratives for different audiences.

[Required competencies]

• Ability to evaluate whether a deal is worth pursuing, structure terms that protect Galux's interests, assess risk-reward tradeoffs in real time during negotiations, and know when to push and when to walk away.

• Commercial and scientific storytelling at the executive level, with the ability to tailor Galux's platform and pipeline narrative to different audiences and make a compelling case for partnership.

• Portfolio-level strategic thinking, with the ability to advise leadership on how partnering decisions interact with pipeline priorities, development timelines, and company-wide resource constraints.

• Gravitas and credibility to represent Galux as a peer in discussions with SVP and C-suite-level counterparts at global pharma companies.

• Alliance governance instincts, knowing how to protect Galux's position in long-term partnerships, escalate issues before they become problems, and ensure collaborations deliver sustained value.

• Comfortable establishing BD processes, infrastructure, and team culture from a relatively early stage, rather than inheriting a mature function.

• Resilience and pragmatism in a resource-constrained environment where senior leaders are expected to operate across all levels of detail when needed.

[Preferred Qualifications]

• MS or PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline, or MD.

• Familiarity with AI-driven drug discovery or computational biology platforms.

• Experience in out-licensing or platform technology partnerships specifically, not only traditional single-asset deals.

• Direct involvement in portfolio governance or pipeline prioritization decisions at a previous organization.

• Track record of building or scaling a BD team, including hiring, developing, and retaining talent.

• Korean language proficiency.

[Qualifications]

• Bachelor's degree in related life sciences disciplines.

• 10+ years of experience in biopharma business development, licensing, or M&A, including 5+ years as primary deal lead responsible for structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions.

• Demonstrated track record of closed deals with measurable commercial outcomes, not just involvement but ownership of transactions from origination through execution.

• Strong scientific fluency with the ability to independently interpret preclinical and clinical data, critically evaluate asset value, and engage credibly with senior R&D counterparts at partner organizations.

• Fluent in English (written and spoken), with the ability to lead negotiations, deliver executive-level presentations, and represent Galux with authority in high-stakes partnering and investor settings.

• Established and active network of senior BD, licensing, and R&D contacts across global pharma and biotech, with the ability to leverage existing relationships to accelerate deal origination and open doors that would otherwise be inaccessible to an early-stage company.
